Mine Site Improves Process Chemistry

A mine site needed to improve the process chemistry at the thickeners. They had noticed that consumption of polymer (flocculant) and antiscalant was increasing.

They also were seeing increased downtime and reduced recovery of valuable metal.

It was more difficult to settle some of the ores, further affecting throughput and recovery.

The service provided by the chemical supplier, who visited every 3 – 4 months was not improving the situation.

After 2 months, the chemical supplier changed the polymer and is looking at alternative antiscalant products.

The performance of the polymer across all the ores has significantly improved.
